About
About Desktop Services
A self-help website for setting up a computer desk: where the keyboard goes, how high and how far away the screens go, and what a monitor's numbers mean in real inches.
It has three parts: the Desk Fit planner, Screen Math and a private Desk Card to keep your desks.
What it is not
- Not a shop. It sells no desks, chairs, monitors or arms, and earns nothing from any brand.
- Not an installer or a person. Nobody comes out, nobody calls; you measure and adjust yourself.
- Not medical advice. It uses the general placement guidance in OSHA's computer workstation eTool. If a setup causes pain, stop and ask a qualified professional.
- Not connected to OSHA, Microsoft or any furniture or monitor maker.
Who runs it
Desktop Services is made and run by WeldonPC.com, an IT company in Ohio. The rules it uses are listed with their sources on Sources.
The public pages carry one labelled banner ad, for now for WeldonPC's own services (see Privacy). Results made from your measurements and the Desk Card never show one.
